Katy Perry a 27-year-old woman who has kissed a girl and is in the process of divorcing a former sex and drug addicted husband continues to sing songs about the struggles of pre-pubescent girls.
Lets analyze some of the songs from ‘Teenage Dream’:
‘Teenage Dream’ – a song about a teenage girl asking her boyfriend to “go all the way tonight.” No one over the age of 16 probably refers to having their first sexual encounter as going “all the way tonight.”
‘Peacock’ – “I wanna see you peacock, cock, cock” You might say that when you’re 10 years old after you convinced the boy from down the block it would be fun to play doctor.
‘Last Friday Night’ – In her video Katy Perry plays a high school girl singing about being drunk to the point of being “blacked out,” having “a stranger in her bed,” smelling “like mini bar,” “skinny dipping” and “having a ménage à trois.”
‘The One that Got Away’ – ‘on my 18th birthday we got that chain tattoos. Use to steal you parents’ liquor…”
And who can forget ‘California Gurls’ in their “daisy dukes” who like “sippin’ gin and juice’
Katy Perry has some nerve to attack Lady Gaga about degrading religion when she tweeted “Using blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke” about Lady Gaga’s Alejandro video.
That is quite hypocritical considering the Teenage Dream album was basically about promiscuous teenage girls who get drunk and put out. I don’t think Lady Gaga ever had one song promoting teenage sex and underage drinking.
Lets hope Katy Perry’s next album focuses on her post high school years—enough with the kiddy porn pop.
Update: In an interview with the Daily Mail, David Cameron also finds Katy Perry music “appalling.” It’s great when heads of state read the blog too
